HISTORY
An
advanced civilization, the Chavin, appeared as the first consolidation
of a Pan Andean culture.
The next Pan Andean culture was the Wari, which expanded from the central
Sierra in Ayacucho between A.D. 900 and 1200.
Finally, the Incas stored out of Cusco to conquer the largest empire ever
seen in South America.
The arrival of the Spanish conquerors in 1532 dealt a severe blow to the
Andean world, a rupture in two millennia of self sustained development.
The Americas were incorporated into an alien feudal order on which the
natives were chattel.
In 1780, Tupac Amaru II, who traced his lineage back to the Incas, led
a rebellion against the Spanish crown and this system of exploitation.

of entire generations, this culture created amazing jewels such us Machupicchu,
Sacsayhuamán, Qorikancha, Pisac and many others which were built
to the stature and the majesty of their gods, giving rise to a variety
of cultural manifestations that today still stand and which constitute
an important part of the living culture of our earth.
The civilization preceding them which
set the foundation for the rising of the Inca Empire was located in all
the Peruvian territory. Today some museums exhibit the finest collection
of Pre – Inca gold and silver pieces also textiles, pottery and
precious stones some of them 3,000 years old as well as a vast collection
of weapons. Complex metallurgy began to develop during this era, later
the use of bi-and tri-metallic alloys (cooper-gold-silver) was to dominate,
and cooper and bronze casting.
The legacy of Colonial Peru is found in the different churches, cathedrals
and vice regal mansions busty by the Spaniards. The Dominican order was
the first to settle in the vice regal Capital Lima considerate as the
sear of the Spanish viceroyalty until the Independence from Swain 1821.
